Welcome welcome welcome..we fellow wives of crazy runners (I'm married to the craziest of them all...Sasha) love it when other wives join up. I think you'll love the blog and love getting in shape.

Welcome to the blog!!! I think we should check, are the fast running chicks outnumbering the fastrunning guys? Has to be getting close!!! Glad to have you along!!!

From Sasha Pachev on Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 22:28:29

Welcome to the blog! Michelle - after I add Gender to the user data form we will be able to get a count of chicks vs guys.

From rachelle on Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 22:31:42

Thanks everyone Kory loves this site he has made many friends.

From Jody on Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 22:53:20

From James on Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 23:32:05

Welcome to the blog! We need to get a picture of you up soon.

From Lybi on Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 23:37:39

YEE-HAW! Another wife of a fasty on the blog. Welcome! There are quite a few of us that got on this blog after getting tired of waiting for our hubbies to get home from a run. Sarah is married to Sasha, Marcie--Jon, Bethany--Cody, Mik'L--Clyde, E-beth--Armyrunner, Me--James W, Stacy--Paul Peterson etc. etc.

Hey Sasha, if you are thinking of putting gender in the user data form-you should just have people put their age division, including Clydes and so forth. That way we can check on how others in our division train etc. It helps make the blog not seem so big and daunting if we can connect with others in our situation.

From andee on Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 23:44:02

Welcome! It's good to have another runner to chat with. Happy running!

From Bethany on Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 23:56:33

Woot woot! I am so excited to see another "wife" on here. Awesome goals! Mine are similar, and I think I am in a similar position to you. Yeah! Do you have a race planned or anything you are training for? When I joined, I got the advice to book a 5K and then train for that. It really helped motivate me. Also, Stacy and I are running the 5 miler in Moab in march. Are you and Kory going down? Sorry, dont mean to overwhelm you....

From jtshad on Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 10:46:13

Welcome to the blog and great job getting back into running. Now I need to get my wife back running after her knee issues and on the blog as well.

Today I wasn't sure I was going to have time to run but I needed to go to the bank so I decided to run to the bank and  knew that  tonight was going to be to busy,  my daughter has a piano recital so tonight wouldn't be an option for running, I ran 2 miles at a 11:48 pace. It was a great run I felt good a little hard getting going after going into the bank but once I did it was great coming home.

You made it! Sometimes I feel like I just have to get off the treadmill before I hit my goal. Good job staying on!

From Lybi on Mon, Dec 03, 2007 at 19:22:35

Plus you saved your hubby's life! That's worth at least 3 "bonus miles". :) You are quite the heroine!

From Stacy on Wed, Dec 05, 2007 at 20:05:48

Nice job today! I could only 1.5 on the treadmill today because I lacked motivation.

Your doing great! Just remember the important thing is you got out there and did it and have been consistent for the last few weeks. Your my favorite runner and your going to meet all your goals.

From Stacy on Sat, Dec 08, 2007 at 17:33:44

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets winded when I bring the dog along. It really is harder when the dog is dragging you all over the place.

Tonight I ran in the snow for the first time ever at 15 degrees, Kory was surprised I wanted to still run and not on the treadmill ,  3.21 mile at a 13.16 pace Kory ran with me and paced me very well .I am not sure I would have gone as far by myself in the cold or the area I went over I probably would have ran around my neighborhood instead and kept it shorter about 2 miles.

From Lybi on Mon, Dec 10, 2007 at 22:43:59

First snowy run! Congratulations. You'll probably be surprised to see that I am opting for the treadmill tonight because it's too cold outside: only 50 degrees. Brrrr.

Keep up the great work!

From sarah on Mon, Dec 10, 2007 at 23:51:35

Lybi you are great...we can only dream of anything above FREEZING here in Provo. Great job Michelle. I think you will be meeting your goals very soon.

Tonight I ran 2 miles at a 12:22 pace with Kory Thanks again honey.. also my 3 year old and 8 yr old wanted to run when I got back home Vance age 3 ran with me for .08 of a mile and my 8 yr old ran .16 mile and then more with Kory check out Kory's blog to find out how well they ran with daddy. Tonight the run felt easy it was nice, but also very slick because of the ice.

Okay I decided after dinner to run to the store that Kory wanted us to go to so I ran another 1.17 miles at a 11.52 pace just because it felt so good. And then I was so close to 1 mile I just had to finish it.

Today I ran with Kory on his lunch hour 3.1 at a 12.29 pace and .40 at

a .19 pace with my 3 year old son Vance. which the first mile feeling

hard to get into the rythm but after that it did get easier. We had a

busy evening and I realized I was close to hitting 10 miles for the

week and so when we got home this evening I decided to run on the

treadmill for a mile (4.7 for 1/2 5.0 mph) it felt like a productive day We have a family pot

luck for Christmas on Saturday so I plan on running at least 2 miles so

I can enjoy the food and not feel guilty.

Rachelle:

Some thoughts on your training to make it most effective. Train 6 days a week without skipping. Training must be something that just happens, just like eating or sleeping, rather than an occasional treat or excursion. Establish a minimum quota for daily mileage. 2 sounds like a good idea. Go more if you feel good. Go slower if you do not, even take walking breaks if you have to, but do get through 2 miles at the very least. Increase the mileage and the speed very gradually and cautiously as your fitness increases. Periodically get into a 5 K to test your fitness in a fun way.

From rachelle on Wed, Dec 19, 2007 at 11:30:43

Sasha

I am not sure if I could do 2 every day I guess I could possibly try. Some days it is very hard to make sure I get every other day my schedule is crazy Kory runs in the early am and I open my daycare at 7am and close at 545pm most days I don't have get a break to go to the bathroom I know excuses excuses I read your blog on them but they are true I will take your challenge and give it a try.

Okay so today I ran 2 miles at a11:42 pace I will try to do what Sasha suggested but I am not sure if I can, something to try running 6 days a week I don't know?  Today was snowing kinda of raining with a small wind It was a nice run and I enjoyed looking at all the snow in the mountains around us they sure look pretty.

Six days a week almost seems easier to me than five. That extra day off usually gets me out of the rhythm. Of course, I had three days off this week, but I was sick, so I forgive myself. Nice run today!

Ran today on icky treadmill, it was snowing and blowing and I chickened out for an outside run, man it sure seems harder on the treadmill it is hard to stay focused. And my breathing seems to be so different. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE.. JESUS IS THE REAL TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS..

Today I ran 2 miles at an average pace of  12:17  this was a hard run for me I haven't ran for 2 days and it was cold with a small wind and snow I put on a face mask I think that made it hard to run and my breathing was horrible I finally put the mask on my head and off my face but then I still struggled all the way until I was finally done. I think it was just a tough day of running but at least I wasn't on the TM.. I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas..
